OVERVIEW
Noble Steps CHI was founded with the aim of assisting vulnerable youth and marginalized communities. Our mission involves promoting financial literacy, preparing individuals for careers, fostering community development, encouraging social involvement, providing trauma relief, and offering educational support. The objective is to address the unequal distribution of resources among underserved populations. Through our culturally responsive and empowering platform, we have successfully created a supportive environment, driven by our belief in the potential of individuals.
ABOUT THE FOUNDER
Terraye, a resident of Chicago, Illinois, is a proud mother to her incredible son, Lennox Pierce Evans. Presently, she possesses two advanced degrees and is actively working towards obtaining her Doctorate of Education.
Following her college graduation, Terraye embarked on a career path as a champion for Criminal Justice Reform with the goal of putting an end to the disproportionate incarceration of minority groups. Simultaneously, she held roles as an educator, community advocate, and motivational speaker. Throughout these various endeavors, she keenly observed the numerous disparities and injustices that afflicted the surrounding communities.
Terraye dedicated many years to assisting populations in and around the Chicagoland area that were overlooked and in need. These areas faced issues such as violence, poverty, unemployment, and lack of access to mental health resources. Her commitment to education, fairness, and the transformative power of entrepreneurship motivated her to utilize her personal experiences and devotion to bring about positive change.
Noble Steps CHI was established in 2018 with the aim of addressing the needs of multiple communities. The founder envisioned a platform that would assist marginalized communities in various ways, including volunteer work, social emotional learning, business and home ownership, job training, mindfulness, and educational resources. As part of this initiative, the founder regularly organizes activities such as adult restorative justice/community circles, youth groups focusing on trauma relief and emotional support, classes on financial literacy and entrepreneurial skills, and workshops to enhance job readiness.
